What is a precinct committee member?
A Republican committee member’s duty is critical since they represent the registered Republican voters in their area. Committee members also represent the Republican Committee of Johnson County to the voters in their precinct. Precinct committee members are often THE REPUBLICAN PARTY to many people because they are the grassroots leaders for the party in their area and often the first link to the party.
What are the duties of precinct committee members?
The primary role of a committee member is to help elect competent Republicans to office and to promote the values of the Republican Party. During the year, the committee member interacts with voters and works to elect competent Republicans to office. But these responsibilities are not limited to Election Day only! Committee members’ primary responsibilities are as follows:
  • Communicate with voters
  • Distribute candidate and party literature
  • Assist GOP candidates running for office
  • Volunteer at GOP phone banks
  • Recruit and train volunteers
  • Attend GOP meetings and events
Yes, these responsibilities may appear to be enormous but fighting for your values is never easy. But if you approach them step-by-step and build a well-thought-out strategy, you will find that your role will be one of the most gratifying and delightful experiences you will ever have.
