Ronnie Metsker was sworn in as the ninth Johnson County Election Commissioner February 1, 2016 and is now serving in his second term. Since becoming the Election Commissioner, Ronnie has led his team working tirelessly to implement needed improvements for Johnson County voters.
Ronnie earned national acclaim from the Election Center and the University of Auburn with a Certified Election and Registration Administrator designation (CERA). Metsker is active in the Kansas Association of Counties, and Kansas County Clerks & Elections Officials Association. He also serves on the Executive Leadership Team and the Executive Management Team in Johnson County Government.
Metsker is a graduate of Liberty University, an ordained minister and a certified Executive Life and Leadership Coach. Metsker served 49 years in area faith-based non-profits; with 30 years as president, CEO or chairman. Prior to 2006, Metsker served over 40 years at Kansas City Youth For Christ; (now Youthfront) more than 20 years as President, CEO or Chairman.
Ronnie and his wife, Susan, have been married 44 years, they have three married children and four grandchildren. They are active members and volunteers in their church. Passionate about the preciousness of life, they seek to ‘serve others gladly;’ specifically those with developmental disabilities honoring their 12-year-old grandson born with Down syndrome and autism. Ronnie’s mission statement: “love God, love others.” His values are driven by his mission. Metsker seeks to live out of the overflow of his heart – desiring to be a winsome and thoughtful servant leader.
Lunch will be a delicious Baked Lasagna – Italian sausage, fresh pasta, beef marinara, ricotta and Italian cheeses.
