In 2018\, he was recognized for his work with the Bad Cohen award as ‘the person who always goes above and beyond in campaigns for Republican candidates.” \nMike is a CPA and graduated from Washburn University School of Law. He has been practicing law for 28 years. Mike has represented the Kansas – Republican Party against the IRS and the Federal Election Commission. He has represented individual republican federal and state candidates in election related issues. \nIn Kansas\, he has been involved in litigation addressing corruption in government. He practiced law in England from 2000-2007 and is one of the few Americans who is a member of the Bar of England and Wales. In 2012\, he and some of his former partners formed the Kuckelman Torline and Kirkland law firm. Mike serves on many boards and volunteers his legal services for adoptions. Mike and his wife Jo have three adult children\, two at K-State and one at KU Medical School. He becomes the first member of Congress in history to have chaired both the House Agriculture Committee and the Senate committee.  With a record number of votes in favor of his bipartisan 2018 Farm Bill\, Senator Roberts also becomes the first member of Congress to write and pass a Farm Bill in both chambers.\n\n\n\nAfter devoting a lifetime to public service\, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts announced January 4th\, he will not seek re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2020 and will retire at the end of this term and the 116th Congress.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen making his announcement\, Senator Roberts concluded his remarks with his agenda for the remaining two years of his current Senate term and said\,\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“I will be forever grateful to the people of Kansas for allowing me to represent you – and you can bet I still have a very long ‘to do’ list. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we welcome our speaker\, Mike Kuckelman\, candidate for the Kansas Republican Party Chairmanship. \nThe State Party elections will be held in the upcoming State Delegate convention February 16th in Topeka. \nMike is a founding member of the law firm Kuckelman Torline Kirkland. In his 25 years of practice\, he has distinguished himself as a trial lawyer. \nMike developed the strategy and filed the first commercial plaintiff recovery case in early 2002 for the 9/11 World Trade Center terrorist attack. His work lead to the creation of the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee and he was one of the lead attorneys appointed by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to litigate the World Trade Center cases. This Committee ultimately negotiated a $1.2 billion settlement for the plaintiffs – the largest recovery of this nature in history. \nOver the years\, Mike has supported several families through the adoption process. Note the change from the normal Tuesday luncheon. \nFirst elected Jerry to the United States Senate in 2010\, Senator Moran serves as chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce\, Justice\, Science\, and Related Agencies\, which allows him to lead the funding decisions that impact men and women working at agencies like the Department of Justice\, the FBI\, the United States Trade Representative and the Department of Commerce. As chairman of the Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection\, Product Safety\, Insurance and Data Security\, Senator Moran continues his strong advocacy for data security\, consumer protections and the empowerment of our Olympic and amateur athletes. \nReservations are required and space is limited.\nCheck in begins at 11:30 am.
