Who We Are

Sue Huff
Chairwoman

Sue got involved in politics in 2012 after Obama won his second term in office. She did not like the way the country was going and wanted to help make a change. Sue has held previous positions and devoted many hours to volunteering, including:

  • Secretary for the Third District
  • Vice Chair and Chair of the Northeast Johnson County Republicans
  • Vice Chair and Interim Chair for Northwest Johnson County Republicans
  • Treasurer for several candidates’ campaigns
  • Former candidate for State Representative
  • Previously she volunteered at the JCRP office and helped with events.

Sue is currently a Precinct Committeewoman. She is a single mom of an adult son. Sue looks forward to serving the Party and working with everyone to continue the winning traditions of our past Chairs.

David Greenwald
Vice Chair

David was born and raised in Overland Park. He is currently the Deputy District Attorney in Douglas County, Kansas. David first became interested in politics during Bob Dole’s 1996 Presidential run and began volunteering on campaigns in high school. David worked on Capitol Hill for Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) before coming back to the Kansas City area and working on Senator Pat Roberts’ 2008 re-election campaign. David moved to Miami, Florida, to attend law school, where he volunteered on Senator Marco Rubio’s campaign in 2010. After completing law school, David moved back to Overland Park, where he currently lives with his wife, Danee, and their three kids, Jack, Teddy, and Isabella.

Rose Gerringer
Secretary

Rose Gerringer grew up in Shawnee and has lived in Merriam since 1999. She and her husband, Gary, are currently Precinct Committee members. Rose has worked for candidates in multiple election cycles. She previously held the position of Secretary in both Shawnee and Chatauqua counties in Kansas. She was a candidate for Merriam city council in 2023. She is the current Vice Chair of the Northeast Johnson County Conservatives. Rose and Gary were blessed with five children, and Rose homeschooled all of them.

Jim Atchison
Treasurer

Jim is a fourth generation Kansan. His first Republican memory was rooting for Ronald Reagan to upset the sitting President Gerald Ford at the 1976 convention in Kansas City. However, Rush Limbaugh was the one who ignited a passion for Republican politics, and Mike McMullen tapped into that passion by convincing Jim to use it to walk for local candidates. Jim participated in the church-led movement to pass the Kansas marriage amendment in 2005. He also had the privilege of learning grassroots politics from Tim Golba as Treasurer of the Kansas PAC. They collected enough signatures at local parades to successfully get a question on the 2009 Johnson County ballot for voters to decide whether to elect judges or have them appointed.

Jim earned a BS in Accounting from Kansas State University and an MBA from Avila College, and he successfully passed the CPA test in 1988. Jim has worked in accounting for Sprint Corporation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Colonial Presbyterian Church, a small four-person CPA firm, and Lockton Insurance Brokers. After accepting a buyout from Lockton Companies earlier this year, he landed a senior accountant position with Bardavon Health Innovations in April 2024. Jim and his wife Karen live in Olathe. Their three adult sons are scattered throughout the United States.
