2023 Candidates

Johnson County Offices

Johnson County Community College is a bedrock of our community. The recent decline in enrollment should not be met with a higher cost to taxpayers. Elect leaders who are committed to fiscal responsibility and continuing a legacy of educational excellence.

City Offices

Our elected officials at the city level cast a vision for our communities. They must balance community infrastructure needs with growth potential and quality of life while always keeping a watchful eye on the taxpayers bottom line. If we want Johnson County to be an affordable place to live, we must elect officials who make that a priority.

Overland Park - Ward 4

Bio: Gregg Riess is running for Overland Park City Council.   We live in Overland Park because of the great schools, overall safety, the variety of local activities, excellent opportunities for employment, and ease of transportation. To continue forward, we will need to carefully weigh our residents’ preferences while maintaining a prudent, balanced budget. We should limit government, limit taxes and increase freedom.

Three talking points/campaign issues:
As a candidate for city council my priorities are:

  1. Strong, safe neighborhoods; quality of life;
  2. Jobs & economic growth;
  3. Enhanced infrastructure.
